Safer Play
Understanding our commitment
1.1 Peterborough Casino offers real money games to adults aged 19 and over. Player protection is built into our service, and you pay nothing to use any of the tools below.
1.2 You will find each tool in your account under Safer Play. Membership of our VIP Club or Peterborough Rewards never overrides a limit, break or exclusion you have chosen.
1.3 Your first deposit is possible only once your identity has been confirmed and we have established that local law permits players from your area. The cashier and all games stay closed while either check is pending.
Checking your own play
2.1 Our self-assessment quiz covers your habits through a brief set of questions on spending, time online and the effect of play on your daily life. Your result appears as soon as you finish, along with suggested tools from the list below.
2.2 Signs to watch for include chasing losses, staying longer than you intended, borrowing money to play, keeping play hidden from family and feeling restless when you are not playing. If you recognise any of these, we urge you to take action early.
Using the tools you control
Setting money limits
3.1 Deposit limits set the most you may fund your account with across a timeframe you pick. Wager limits set the most you may stake in total over that same timeframe. Stake limits let you fix the maximum per bet across Jackpots, Live Casino and the Lobby.
Tracking your time
3.2 You decide how often a reality check appears. Each one shows your net result alongside the time elapsed since this session began, with options to continue, stop or open Safer Play.
3.3 A time alert tells you once your session hits the length you chose beforehand.
Pausing your account
3.4 The length of a cooling-off period is your choice, with 24 hours as the minimum and six weeks as the maximum. While it runs, deposits and bets are blocked on your account, and all marketing aimed at you is put on hold.
Excluding yourself or closing your account
3.5 Self-exclusion is for players needing a firm break longer than a cooling-off period. It cannot be ended early once active, and we take reasonable measures to stop anyone opening new accounts in your name.
3.6 Account closure brings your relationship with us to an end. Request it in writing, and any remaining balance will be paid to a payout method registered to you.
Changing a limit
4.1 A reduced limit applies immediately.
4.2 A request to lift a limit or remove it entirely applies only after a 24-hour wait. Your present limit continues to apply during that wait, giving you time to reconsider.
4.3 Self-exclusions and cooling-off breaks cannot be shortened once they have begun.
Finding free support
5.1 The organizations below give confidential support to players as well as to those around them, such as family and friends:
- ConnexOntario
- Gamblers Anonymous
- Gambling Therapy
- Kindbridge Behavioral Health
- 211 Alberta
5.2 Contacting any of these services has no effect on your account here.
Keeping minors away from play
6.1 Nobody under 19 may register or play. Our Age Policy explains how we verify age and what parents can do on shared devices.
